1. Who We Are
Dala For Africa (Pty) Ltd (Registration: 2024/537172/07) (“Dala”, “we”, “us”) is the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.
2. What We Collect
We only collect what you give us through the forms on this site, plus limited technical data from cookies.
- Contact form (homepage): your profile (corporate or institution; startup or SME; healthcare professional), name, email address and the message you send us.
- Funding readiness check (acquisition page): your profession or specialty, the location of the practice you want to buy, your estimated capital need, whether you have a deposit available, your name, email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number.
- Question form (acquisition page): your email address and your question.
- Cookies and analytics: information about how you use the site, such as pages visited, the device and browser used and how you arrived. See our Cookie Policy.
Please do not send us sensitive personal information (such as health information) through these forms. We do not need it to respond to you.
3. Why We Use It
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry or question.
- Assess whether we are a good fit for your needs and, if so, prepare a proposal and scope of work.
- For practice acquisition enquiries, assess funding readiness, structure the acquisition and match you with suitable funders.
- Understand how the site is used so that we can improve it and measure the performance of our advertising.
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We process your information because you have asked us to, because it is needed to take steps towards an engagement you have requested, because we have a legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business. We also process it where the law requires us to. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
4. Marketing
We will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them. Every marketing message we send will give you a simple way to opt out.
5. Who We Share It With
We never sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Funders and finance partners: for practice acquisition enquiries, we share your structured deal information with selected lenders and financial partners under confidentiality agreements. We only do this once you have asked us to proceed.
- Service providers (operators): our website forms are processed by Formspree and our website analytics and advertising measurement use Google services. These providers process information on our behalf and under their own security and confidentiality commitments.
- Professional advisers and authorities: where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
6. Information Sent Outside South Africa
Some of our service providers, including Formspree and Google, store and process information outside South Africa, for example in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on providers that are subject to laws, binding rules or agreements that give a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA, as section 72 of POPIA requires.
7. How Long We Keep It
We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it to respond and to follow up on a potential engagement. In any event we keep it no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you unless an engagement follows. If you become a client, we keep records for as long as the law and our professional obligations require. After that, we delete or de-identify the information.
8. How We Protect It
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, damage and unauthorised access, including restricting access to those who need it and requiring our operators and partners to keep it confidential and secure.
9. Your Rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it.
- Ask us to correct, update or delete it.
- Object to our use of it, including for direct marketing.
- Withdraw your consent where we rely on it.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa). Details are on the Regulator’s website at inforegulator.org.za.

To exercise any of these rights or to ask about this policy, send a message through the contact form on our homepage and start it with “Privacy request”. Our Information Officer will respond within a reasonable time and in any event within the periods POPIA sets.
11. Children
This site is intended for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
12. Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
